Houston Ballet Academy Scholarship winner, tells of her wonderful experience : Jasmin Forner from The MacDonald College has returned from her scholarship trip to Houston Ballet Academy’s Summer Intensive.

AICD Teachers Scholarship : This was awarded to Courtney Turvey who teaches the Borovansky Syllabus at Ballet Art Katoomba in NSW. Courtney had a wonderful experience. Read about her experiences here.

The 2014 Houston Ballet Academy Scholarship : Jasmin Forner from The McDonald College won this year’s Scholarship. Jasmin will be flying to Houston, USA on the 14th June to take up her place at the Houston Ballet Academy’s Sunmmer Intensive Program. Previous winners of this scholarship have been invited to join the full time program at this Internationally acclamed ballet school. Harley Campbell, 2011 winner of this scholarship is now danceing with Houston Ballet II. Antonia Johnson, from Studio Tibor, was awarded the 2nd place prize and Sere Schuller from Suzanne Way Professional Coaching on the Gold Coast, was awarded the Encouragement prize. Congratulations to all three of these talented dancers and thanks to our wonderful guest teacher and adjudicator, Kit Lethby and Catherine Goss.

WA Choreograhic Festival : This event was held on Sunday 23rd March at the Swan Park Theatre in Perth. Seventy Eight students had the opportunity to perform their choreographic works. Commentators were Amy Wiseman and Carly Armstrong from “Unkempt” dance group. Borovansky Syllabus Scholarship 2013 Results: Intermediate Tied 1st place – Lacie Roberts, Jasmin Branfort, Chantelle Manning Advanced 1 Ist place – Lilyana Scott Tied 2nd place – Claire Henderson and Rhianna Swanbury Advanced 2 1st – Brianna Emrich Tied 2nd place – Bethany Hall and Danika Pecic.
